Hi there! 👋🏾 My name is Justina. I am a compassionate creative who loves to use the gift of music in service to others to bring about healing, support, and the best possible quality of life.

I have been a board certified music therapist since 2018, having received a Master of Arts in Music Therapy degree at Immaculata University and completing my internship at Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice.

As a multifaceted music therapist, I not only enjoy providing music therapy sessions, but also love opportunities for advocacy and collaboration with other professionals to help advance and expand music therapy to people and places who have not yet experienced it.

A native of Prince George's County, Maryland, I am a first generation Nigerian-American, who is grateful to be able to credit a memorable family moment with my maternal grandmother as the catalyst for my desire to become a music therapist.

I now reside in the Chicagoland area where I work for Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care as a music therapist who provides services for both adult and pediatric hospice patients and their families.

In addition to my responsibilities at Lightways, I also serve on the steering committee for the Black Music Therapy Network, Inc. as co-chair of the membership committee. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working out, and cooking.
